Long overdue race report for my last big race of 2012. that was a success, with a good result and in a wonderful place!
I don’t remember when Ellen and I decided to enter this race, but it was pretty late and totally unplanned. Maybe a week or less before it took place.
After the poor weather we have had, we were pretty excited to get racing again, first race of the year for Ellen, and at Eton! Olympic distance for both of us…
A week after the Swashbuckler, I was entered in this sprint distance to rack up some points for ESC D3 Triathletes in the London league. Crystal Palace is notorious for one thing: it’s Hill. 9 laps of the bike means 9 times up the hill and 9 times down, plus another 2 on the run for good measure.
The goal was under 5h. The result 4h55’21″. Job done! But by no means this has been an easy race, as I can call this one my toughest race yet!
Something I should have written a long time ago… I did an Olympic race in 2011!! Having registered last year just as the entries opened, I was to tackle the Buckingham Palace course from 7:30am on the Sunday morning. 2 months before Challenge Barcelona, this was set to be a good test about my form of the time, and it didn’t disappoint!
